Faculty Council
According to § 44 of the Lower Saxony Higher Education Act (NHG), the Faculty Council decides in matters of research and teaching of fundamental importance. Among other things, it decides on the Faculty's regulations, in particular the examination regulations, gives its opinion to the Presidential Board on the introduction, significant changes and closure of study programmes and decides on all questions regarding the development of the Faculty.
The Faculty Council is made up of equal numbers of members from the group of professors, research staff, students as well as technical and administrative staff. The dean chairs the council without voting rights.
In order to enable the participation of the university public in accordance with the Constitution of Leibniz University, in addition to the members of the Faculty Council, the deputies as well as interested members of the university may also participate in the university public part of the meeting.
These persons must register with Ms von Pichowski no later than 10 a.m. on the day of the meeting. When the non-public part of the meeting is called, guests are asked to leave the meeting.
