Semester Planning
Students should be aware that the academic year at Leibniz Universität Hannover is divided into two terms/semesters. Each term or semester consists of a teaching period which is then followed by examinations.
This M.Sc. programme is built up of modules and each module contains different lectures. There are different types of modules: compulsory, mandatory elective and elective (depending on major modules, plus the elective) module and Studium Generale.
Students can choose to specialise either in Water Resources Management (WRM) or in Sanitary Engineering (SAN), which implies a set of specific modules in the two fields.
The handbook of modules contains all relevant information to organise your degree programme, including detailed module descriptions.
Examination
Here you can find the semester, registration and exam dates. Please note the different registration deadlines of the two examination periods A and B. You can register for exams of your study programme's current module offer via the online registration period: https://qis.verwaltung.uni-hannover.de/
The registration for a Project or Master Thesis is subject to certain conditions, which are regulated by the examination regulations. You can find the registration forms here and the examination regulations under STUDY REGULATIONS.
To apply for an examination outside of the range of courses as per §12 Sec. 3 of the Examination Regulations for Water Resources and Environmental Management, you have to use the "Studium Generale" form.
Important notice for thesis registration: In case you have not found a supervisor for your thesis/reasearch yet, please submit the form "Student Thesis Request", which can also be found under the "Examination" grid.
Study Regulations
The examination regulations (PO) state structure and content of the M.Sc. programme and are legally binding. They define requirements for examinations and their procedure, and specify modules in which examination and study achievements are to be performed, as well as the type and possible repetitions of examinations.
