Using the Computer Labs

Please send the completed application forms together with a scan/copy (PDF) of your Immatrikulationsbescheinigung by e-mail to cippool@irz.uni-hannover.de

For communication between students and employees of Leibniz University, it is mandatory to use their student e-mail address (name@stud.uni-hannover.de).

When applying for an account, you agree to the terms of service.

Login
After successfully applying for an account, you will get a username for the computer labs.

To login:

• Enter username and password
• Choose Domain "CIP-BAU"
• Confirm with OK 

Password
To change the password, you have to be logged in an press "Strg" + "Alt" + "Entf". The click "Change password ..." ("Kennwort ändern ..."). You will have to type in the old password and two times the new one.

Logout
Always log out after work. Close all programs, then in the start menu choose "Shutdown" („Beenden“) and "Log off" ("Benutzer abmelden").

General

• Students are allowed to save up to 12 GB of data to drive "Z:".
• Don't save in Folder \Profile oder in the Libraries ("Bibliotheken"), because those folders will be copied at login and logout, which slows down the progress extremely and can cause data loss.
• Installing any software without explicit approval from the administrator is prohibited.
• No eating, drinking or smoking in the computer labs.

Printing

• What you need to print in the computer labs

Program crashes
If a program does not react any more, press "Strg" + "Alt" + "Entf", click "Task-Manager", then select the program and click "Task beenden".

Scanner
At the scanner PC you can also use OCR software for text recognition.
